New Balance River Kwai International Half Marathon 2009

The River Kwai Half Marathon is the oldest road race in Thailand. Organizer by Amazing Field with pioneering race director Songkram Kraisonthi, the 28th edition of the race will be held on 13 September 2009 with the start and finish at River Kwai Village Resort. The out and back course is one of the most scenic in Thailand. It takes runners up a gradual climb to the turn around point at 10.5 km. The declining return leg to the finish line will make for a fast second half of the race and most runners normally post a negative split at this race.

There is also a 10K Run on offer which uses the same course with an earlier turn around point. Entries are limited to 1,500 runners and the race has sold out in previous years.

Offers:

Course:
21.100 km and 10.550 km out and back scenic course on the road (asphalt) No. 323. This course was verified and sanctioned by Association of International Marathons and Road Race (AIMS).

Start & Finish Line:
The start will be at the front of River Kwai Village Hotel and will finish in the same place started.

Start Time: 6:00 a.m. for all runners

Location:
The event will be held in the River Kwai Village Hotel which is located at Aumphur Saiyok, Kanchanaburi Province around 200 km drive from Bangkok or 60 km from down town of Kanchanaburi.

Finishers:
All finisher will receive commemorative medal, T-shirt. The finishers number 1-5 of each age group will receive the smart trophies.

Official Champion Chip Timer:
For the half marathon and 10.550 km runners, timing will be recorded by the champion chip. The timing chip must remain attached to the shoe for the duration of the run. Chips will be returned in the finishing area by exchange the commemorative medal. Chips not returned by this time will be considered purchased Baht 500 for each.

Cancellation of a Race:
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the race for reason of safety of the paticipants. There will be no refund of entry fees.

Entry fees: (these fees are for walk-in registrations / Baht 100.- surcharge applies to online registrations)

Half Marathon:
- Non Thai Resident Baht 850.-
- Thai Resident Baht 450.-
Quarter Marathon:
- Non Thai resident Baht 650.-
- Thai Resident Baht 350.-

Entry Limit:
The number of entries for all categories is limited to 1,500 runners, so please enter early to make sure you are the one of all participants in this event.

Registration:
You may register and pick up package in person at the River Kwai Village Hotel on Saturday 12, 2009, 10.00 a.m. - 07.00 p.m.
