Laguna Phuket International Marathon
(13 June 2010) |
Promoted
under the “Run Paradise!” slogan, The Thai
resort island of Phuket will host the fifth edition
of the Laguna Phuket International Marathon. More than
5000 participants are expected to participate in the marathon and
supporting races. The event scheduled for Sunday
14 June, will allow locals and foreign participants from
more than 40 countries to discover the beautiful landscapes
and famous beaches of the island.

Laguna Phuket Triathlon

Now in its fifteenth year, the Laguna Phuket Triathlon is considered Southeast Asia’s premier triathlon event with one of the most challenging and spectacular bike and run courses on the triathlon calendar. The event will again feature an age group competition, the Herbalife Corporate Challenge Team Relay and a 6Km Fun Run. Individual entries and relay entries have already sold out for this year event.

Pan Pacific Bangkok
Walk & Run 4 Women
(6-7 February 2010) |
The event is aimed at raising funding and awareness for cervical cancer a major women’s health risk; promoting prevention and a healthy lifestyle in today’s modern times. 2,000 participants are expected with 500 completing the walk in 24 hours, hundreds more to participate in the surrounding entertainment and events. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in Thai women, with estimated 6,100 new cases diagnosed and 3,100 deaths each year (GLOBALCAN2000). The occurrence of cervical cancer in women in their 20’s is rare, but increases sharply at 35 and 40 years of age and remains high onwards. Most cervical cases in Thailand are diagnosed at a very advanced stage, which leads to little chance of survival.
