Angkor Wat International Half Marathon has been held since December 1996 at one of the famous heritage sites in the world, designated by UNESCO in 1992. The 15th Anniversary Event will be held at the Angkor Wat area on December 5th, 2010 in the most famous Angkor Wat ruins.

Angkor Archaeological Park located in northern Cambodia, is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 sq. km, including forested area, Angkor contains the magnificent remains of several capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century CE. These include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations.

Course:
Specially established in Angkor Wat Ruins in front of the Central Sanctuary of Angkor Wat (Start & Finish Line). Passing Prasat Kravan - Prasat Bat Chun - Banteay Kdey - Ta Prohm - Baphoun - Bayon - South Gate - Basie Cham Krong - Phom Bakheng - Ta Phrom Kei - and back to the front of the Central Sanctuary of Angkor Wat (Finish Line). See Course Map (Acknowledged by AIMS and IAAF). Running course will be marked the number of kilometre. ChampionChip Check Point will be at Angkor Thom (Bayon Temple).

Start & Finish Line:
In front of the Central Sanctuary of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia. From town to the Angkor Wat Temple (Start Line) takes 25 minutes by Tuk Tuk or 20 minutes by taxi or bus. All participants of Angkor Wat International Half Marathon 2008 must arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes before starting time. All categories will start and finish in front of the Angkor Wat Temple.

Water Station:
Every 2.5Km the water station will be set up for delivering water to each participants. The staff will distribute the water to all the participant when need.

ChampionChip Check Point:
Check Point for the ChampionChip will be set up at Angkor Thom (Bayon Temple).

Kilometer Markers:
On the running course was marked the number of Kilometer.

Certificates / Chip Recovery:
Athletes of Half Marathon will be timed by means of a computer chip tied onto shoelace. To be sure that we collect all of this chips after the runner have completed the race, refunding and certificates are distributed Only in exchange for a ChampionChip.
