Tour Overview:
The tour of Ironman Western Australia begins on Tuesday November 30, 2010 with athletes arriving at the Perth Airport. Athletes, bikes and luggage will be transported to the Bel Eyre Hotel in Perth where athletes and partners will spend the night. The next morning a private bus will take the tour from Perth to Busselton, which is around a 2.5 hour drive. Accommodation in Busselton is at the Abbey Beach Resort and the Geographe Bay resort - please see details below.
Each day the tour leaders will assist athletes and partners with course orientation, training sessions, and race registration and also provide informative sessions such as the Q&A coffee and post race breakfast. Please see the below itinerary.
Each athlete and spectator receives a kit bag that will include items such as a Tour T-shirt, cap, socks and sponsors product.

TUESDAY, 30 NOVEMBER 2010:
ARRIVAL DAY – PERTH
Today most of the tour members arrive in Perth. The tour team will meet and greet and transfer you to your overnight Perth accommodation so you can recover from your long flight. The accommodation in Perth is the Bel Eyre, which is situated conveniently close to the airport.
We will see you tomorrow morning for a light run to get the legs moving before travelling the three hours south to Busselton.
WEDNESDAY, 01 DECEMBER 2010:
EASY RUN AT 7:30AM
There is an easy run this morning to loosen up before heading to Busselton via the Transfer bus.
TRAVEL TO BUSSELTON
The bus from the Bel Eyr will leave at 9.30am and arrive in Busselton around 12pm dropping you off at your accommodation.
SWIM AND SHOPPING
This afternoon we will take a look at the swim course, and the tour team will take you through the swim step by step, providing helpful tips along the way. After the swim we will take athletes and their partner’s grocery shopping to fill up their cupboards for a week of carbo loading.

THURSDAY, 02 DECEMBER 2010:
COURSE ORIENTATION AND COFFEE AT ‘THE GOOSE’
This morning the tour team will pick you up from the front of your hotel, and drive you over the bike course, pointing out key parts of the course. On the return journey the team will also stop at Barnard Park and walk you through the transition area. We will return around 9:30am for a coffee at “The Goose”.

EASY RUN, EXPO AND ATHLETE REGISTRATION
There is an easy run tonight with athletes running from Barnard Park to the west turnaround point. The run is done at an easy pace.
Before the run begins athletes can register today for the race and visit the expo. Be sure to bring your photo ID.

FRIDAY, 03 DECEMBER 2010:
SWIM AND COFFEE (and Expo)
Today is another look at the swim course. A guest professional athlete will be in attendance. There will be time to visit the Expo after the swim also.

ATHLETE PARADE AND CARBO PARTY
After you have rested for most of the day, the tour team will pick you up for the athlete parade and carbo party where we have booked a table for all Tour members. After the party we will take you home to your accommodation.

SATURDAY, 04 DECEMBER 2010:
SWIM SESSION AND RACE BRIEFING
Easy swim session before walking over to the compulsory race briefing.

The compulsory race briefing begins at 9:30am after your swim.
The tour bus will take you home after the briefing has ended at 10:15am
BIKE CHECK-IN
Tri Travel will meet you at your hotel at the below times to collect your race kit bags and transport them to Barnard Park. You will then ride to the bike check-in area and meet the tour bus (at a pre determined location) to collect your bags. After your bike and gear is checked-in, the bus will take you home.

TEAM BREAKFAST
An opportunity to discuss yesterday’s events! The buses will pick you up for breakfast at the Equinox Cafe. You can collect your bike from the bike compound at Barnard Park and also hang around for the excitement of the Hawaii slot announcements and the roll down.

PRESENTATION PICK-UPS
The Tour bus will pick you up for the awards ceremony, where there is a reserved table for the Tri Travel tour members, which is then followed by one of the biggest post race parties you will ever attend. Race organisers have provided buses to take athletes and partners home. Party well and be safe!
