| What does Blue Dragon do? | ||
Blue Dragon reaches out to kids in crisis throughout Vietnam. We aim to break the poverty cycle by offering education, training, and job opportunities to those who need them the most: street kids, child victims of trafficking, and the rural poor. Blue Dragon runs a nutrition program to provide free lunches to impoverished street kids. We feed any street kid who is hungry from our Hanoi drop in centre, and on average feed 30 -50 kids a day. The meals we serve are balanced, healthy and nutritious and we have had the menu checked by nutritionists to ensure our kids get the best possible benefit from the food. To date we have served 226,308 meals. It costs roughly $1 a day to feed a street kid a healthy balanced nutritious meal. $800 would feed 40 kids for 20 days. $5,000 would feed 40 kids for 125 days (over 1/3 of a year).
